As you know, I only really post to the blog when I have something I want to share with you. I wanted to share a little bit about my professional life, and how I manage my on the go lifestyle.I’m a family man with a full-time blog, and I also have a demanding corporate job. Work Life as an IT Professional
I work at a large company (#CorporateLife), and I wake up around 5:30AM each day to work on content for the men’s fashion Instagram I run. After that, I get ready for the day and head into work.
I work in IT, and as you can imagine I have a lot of tech gear I have to carry. And, since I work at a large company, I have to do a LOT of walking between buildings. Having the right bag to carry all of my stuff is incredibly important – which is where the Knack Pack comes in.
The Knack Pack as a Laptop Backpack
The Knack Pack is an expandable laptop backpack, with pockets that are designed to keep everything organized. The laptop sleeve on the medium Knack Pack holds up to a 15” laptop (the large holds a 17”) laptop, and the front pockets are perfect for business professionals who travel a lot.
I like to keep my phone in the top pocket for easy access. I keep my business cards in the front pocket, along with my pens, for easy access.
I keep my headphones and cords in the main compartment, and I use the expandable luggage compartment for extra hardware that I may need to take with me.
My days are usually around 10 hours or so, and the Knack Pack comfortably sits on my shoulders It sits on my back easily, and also is designed with ventilation – making sure my back doesn’t get sweaty as I walk around a lot in the Arkansas summer!
Family Time
…and then I head home to see my family. We eat dinner together then my wife and I get the children ready for bed. When that is complete, I go back to posting content, emails, etc. I rinse and repeat this every weekday usually.
Business Travel with the Knack Pack
I travel for work around one week every month. I’ve been going mostly to New York, but later this year is shaping up to include international travel. I enjoy traveling and seeing new places. At times it can be draining but it’s worth it to me. The Knack Pack is a great carryon bag for air travel, making it easy to get through security. I like that everything is organized so I can find it easily on the plane, and the medium fits under the seat in front of me easily.
Family Travel
I’ve also been traveling with my family, exploring Arkansas!
Arkansas is not what you think it is! It’s a wild country with hills, rocks and all kinds of outdoor activities. The fishing, biking, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, etc. are excellent here. I’m into fishing and hiking …so when the family and I go do these things packing essential supplies is important…especially with younger children.

We usually travel on the weekends as a family. One weekend it could be going to local activities in my hometown or taking the children to the community pool on another. I’ve learned that being a dad…that the weekends really come down to two things… 1. Get important things done around the house OR 2. Do something with the children. When I do something with the children I always have to make sure I do not leave without all the essentials with me…i.e. BAND AIDS!
Pack What I’ll Need – #OneBagLife
Since I’ve been on the go so much I’ve learned that having the right equipment with me make things so much easier. In fact, I’ve applied my style concept (versatility) to my travel gear.
Earlier this year (before Knack reached out), I observed that my travel gear is inefficient.
I had a bag for work items, a gym bag, a bag for the children’s stuff and then a bag for traveling. And that’s just my bags, that doesn’t include bags my wife needs!
